Delegation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction visited Belarus


Minsk, November 29. /"Dunyo" NA/. From November 23 to 26, the delegation of our country headed by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Erkin Rustamov paid a working visit to Mogilev (Republic of Belarus).

​During the visit, members of the delegation took part in the XI meeting of the CIS Council on Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation and the XIII International Economic Forum “Mill of Success".

Eight issues were considered on the agenda of the meeting of the CIS Council on Interregional and cross-border cooperation. In particular, positive conclusions were adopted on the work carried out within the framework of interregional and cross-border cooperation in the CIS member states, on the implementation of decisions taken at previous meetings, as well as on the implementation of measures regarding interregional and cross-border cooperation of the economic development strategy until 2030 (2021-2025), as well as on the activities of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The concepts of the CIS Interregional Forum (developed on the initiative of Uzbekistan) and the development of the library and information space on the basis of border libraries were also approved and it was decided to send them to the CIS Executive Committee for consideration in accordance with the established procedure.

Within the framework of the International Economic Forum” Mill of Success" meeting was held with Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Tatiana Brantsevich.

At the meeting an agreement was reached on cooperation between the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the Research Institute under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus in the field of macroeconomic forecasting, food security, medium-term forecasting of opportunities to attract investment in the economy, energy efficiency in industrial enterprises, in the field of IT, training of highly qualified personnel in these areas.

During the visit, the Embassy organized meetings in a number of organizations and business entities, such as Mogilevkhimvolokno, Babushkina Krinka, Mogilevtransmash, MAZ, Mogilevliftmash, Mogotex.

As a result parties got interested in establishing cooperation and agreed to further develop bilateral ties.
