The Prosecutor General's Offices of Belarus and Uzbekistan discussed interstate counteraction to customs violations

December 8, Minsk /"BELTA" NA/. The Prosecutor General's Office held a working meeting with representatives of the supervisory Authority of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the cooperation program of the Prosecutor General's Offices of Belarus and Uzbekistan for 2022-2023, a working meeting of the delegations of the supervisory authorities of both states was held in Minsk on the issues of supervision over the implementation of legislation in the customs sphere. In his welcoming speech, Nikolay Krotov, head of the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus, stressed that the significance of the meeting lies in interstate counteraction to customs offenses and improvement of law enforcement practice.
The participants of the event discussed certain aspects of the organization of customs control, carrying out verification measures when moving goods of various names across the customs border, features of prosecutorial supervision during the investigation by customs authorities, the practice of supervision over the conduct of administrative process by customs officials.
The parties noted the importance of the preventive component in supervisory activities. In addition, they exchanged practical experience, including the most effective methods of influencing offenders.
During the visit, representatives of the delegation of the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan also got acquainted with the work of one of the customs clearance points, the system of professional training of customs specialists.
In conclusion, the Uzbek colleagues expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side for organizing a constructive dialogue, which will contribute to the development of new approaches in the fight against crime in the field of customs relations.
