Photo fact: Culture and traditions of Uzbekistan in the sights of Samarkand

The historical and ethnographic park "Вечный город" represents a unique cultural object with an area of more than 17 ha, a unique mixture of ancient cities, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, Tashkent, Khiva and others. And the concept of "Eternal Garden" is based on the idea of presenting the diversity, beauty, culture and tradition of Uzbekistan.

The Ulugbek Observatory is one of the most unusual sights of Samarkand. During the reign of Ulugbek, Samarkand turned into one of the centers of science. The main stationary instrument of the observatory was a giant quadrant placed inside a cylindrical building with a diameter of 48 m. The upper part of its meridian arc measuring 40.2 m reached the flat roof of the building, an azimuth circle and a rotating quadrant were placed on the roof, which made it possible to fix the coordinates of the luminaries at any point of the celestial sphere in the most accurate way.
