Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road"

A press briefing was held as part of the XV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road".
At the event, presentations of national film projects were presented to the media and film industry figures, and the potential of Uzbekistan's film industry was described. In particular, it was noted that the revival of the Tashkent International Film Festival has become a true symbol of Uzbekistan's cultural life. This year, more than 300 guests from 52 countries participated in the grandiose event. Among them are directors, actors, producers.
A photo exhibition dedicated to great Central Asian filmmakers such as Malik Karimov and Komil Yormatov has been organized as part of the film festival. It was also noted at the press briefing that more than 60 master classes and creative meetings will be held within the framework of the film festival.
A competition for young filmmakers will be organized, which has already become a tradition, "Cinema in 5 Days". And it is not the only one that will be held on the festival site. For the first time a competition of Central Asian films will be organized.
Also, in the program - "round table" with partners of the international organization TURKSOY and the international creative association of CIS film studios. In the business part it is expected to sign memorandums of cooperation with foreign partners - Iran, Hungary, Estonia, Greece and others.
Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Cinematography Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, made a welcoming speech at the opening of the event. He noted the importance of the policy of openness and good-neighborliness pursued by the head of state of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which allows to establish ties in different spheres, including in cinematography. He noted that today the House of Cinematographers has a modern look, the film fund is being restored, classic Uzbek films are being returned from abroad, and charity films are being made.
"There are many important dates this year. The 115th anniversary of the film made by Khudojbergan Devonov, the 85th anniversary of the national art of Uzbek dubbing and the 65th anniversary of the film festival. We have tried to combine important events within the framework of the festival," Firdavs Abdukhalikov noted.

The guests were also introduced to national cinema projects and shown the filming of the historical feature film "Bahadyr Yalangtush".
"Our group came to Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to shoot the historical movie "Bahadyr Yalangtush", - said the stuntman of the movie Jamil Jumasaev. - We have begun the most difficult phase of filming - the historical battles. Shooting will last about two weeks. I am very happy to take part in such an interesting project.
Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Abdukhalil Mignarov also noted the importance of the film festival. As he said, the film festival is a great opportunity for young people to express themselves, touch history and become a part of such a grand and important event.
The XV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" will be held from September 29 to October 2.
