Uzbekistan will cooperate with Belarus in achieving the sustainable development goals

Uzbekistan is ready to establish a broad partnership with Belarus in the field of achieving Sustainable Development Goals. This was stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov in Minsk on the sidelines of the second National Forum on Sustainable Development.
The diplomat highly appreciated the holding of the event in the Belarusian capital, the format of which has reached the international level, taking into account both the global nature of the topics discussed and a wide range of participants from various countries and international organizations, BelTA reports.
"Undoubtedly, this major international event will serve to strengthen cooperation between the governments of various countries in the consistent implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals," the Ambassador said.
Rakhmatulla Nazarov told about Uzbekistan's achievements in sustainable development. He noted the importance of the fact that the Government of Uzbekistan has taken a number of measures to implement the SDGs. In particular, in 2023, 72.5% of all expenditures of the country's state budget were aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
About 400 people took part in the second National Forum on Sustainable Development held in Minsk on June 19. At the meeting, issues of progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus were discussed, and best practices in the field of sustainable development were also exchanged. There were also presentations by the national coordinators for the SDGs of the CIS countries and representatives of the United Nations.
