On 18 February, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus, an online meeting (via the ZOOM platform) was held with the participation of representatives of the National Drug Control Centre, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Customs Committee, the Kh. Suleymanova Republican Centre for Forensic Expertise, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Centre for Mental Health and the Drug Control Committee

It examined the legislative experience of the Republic of Belarus with regard to temporary prohibition or restriction procedures for the early prevention of trafficking in and abuse of emerging narcotic drugs and precursors.

 

In addition, views were exchanged on the process of providing quality drug treatment services to the population and rehabilitation of drug addicts in the country.

✔️ Following the meeting, the parties agreed to co-operate in the development or improvement of regulatory and legal documents in this area, as well as on the prospects for further development of this area.
