
On March 24, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Ivan Krupko, as part of the Gomel region delegation's visit to Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in priority areas, including industrial engineering, agriculture, and the jewelry industry. In particular, they discussed the implementation of new joint projects with the Gomel region in the fields of woodworking, meat and dairy production, and agricultural machinery.
Growth in mutual trade was noted: by the end of 2025, the trade turnover between the Gomel region and Uzbekistan amounted to $50 million, while in January of this year, a 1.5-fold increase in trade turnover was recorded.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop and adopt a joint Action Plan for further deepening cooperation, as well as to organize a visit of an Uzbek delegation to the Republic of Belarus to elaborate on new initiatives.
