Highlights from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's speech at the expanded meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State:

"For us, the chairmanship of the Commonwealth means, first and foremost, the opportunity to contribute to common work, propose new ideas, and jointly promote areas that are truly important today";
Uzbekistan intends to place the issues of economy, new technologies, transport, security, education, science, and human capital development at the center of attention next year;
Work on the chairmanship concept and the Action Plan is nearing completion. They already provide for more than a hundred specific activities;
The need to pay special attention to political dialogue within the Commonwealth was emphasized. The extreme importance of maintaining the opportunity to discuss any issues and find solutions that satisfy everyone was emphasized;
In the economy, it is proposed to focus on industrial cooperation. Combining these capacities, establishing joint production facilities, and building sustainable supply chains will yield significant results for all participants;
Further elimination of barriers that still hinder trade between countries is of key importance;
The importance of expanding the use of digital technologies in business and developing e-commerce was noted;
The need for joint work in areas that will determine the competitiveness of economies in the coming years - critical minerals, artificial intelligence, robotics, new materials, and modern energy technologies - was emphasized.
The importance of simplifying transit procedures and creating routes that are convenient, safe, and cost-effective was emphasized;
Uzbekistan is interested in turning the transport network of Central Asia into an important part of the common system of ties in the CIS space and beyond its borders;
Security and stability will remain among the key priorities during Uzbekistan's chairmanship. The work of relevant CIS bodies and the efforts of countries to counter common threats will be supported;
Cybercrime requires constant attention and close cooperation between countries;
The importance of creating conditions for the human and intellectual potential of countries to work toward the emergence of modern industries, innovations, and new jobs was noted;
"We intend to use the chairmanship to preserve everything that has already proven its effectiveness and, at the same time, give additional impetus to areas where new solutions are needed today."
