The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed the priorities of trade and economic cooperation

On November 30, a telephone conversation took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, topical issues of further expansion of multifaceted cooperation and strengthening of relations of comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed.
The continued active contacts at various levels and the fruitful joint work on the implementation of agreements at the highest level were emphasized with satisfaction.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of trade has increased by more than 30 percent. A regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was successfully held last month. On December 1-2, a meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of the two states will be held in the city of Samarkand, during which current and prospective cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy will be considered. It is also planned to hold a number of business events with the participation of representatives of leading industrial enterprises and companies of our countries.
Interregional cooperation is expanding. In the field of humanitarian exchange, the productive results of the third Uzbek-Russian Educational Forum were noted.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on practical cooperation in a multilateral format, including in the Central Asian region. The leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia took place in a traditionally open, trusting and friendly atmosphere.
